If you're as big a fan of the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives
" then you've probably heard of—and if you're a real fan, already tried—The Blue Plate Diner
in the Sugarhouse neighborhood of Salt Lake.
Guy Fieri and his vintage red Camaro visited the diner back in May of 2008 and was treated to their homemade hash, smoked salmon club sandwich, vegan burger and famous pork chile verde: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1di577guQE (To read about his visit and watch more videos from the segment, check out The Blue Plate Diner's media page
.)The SassyScoops girls recently visited The Blue Plate Diner (look for the review next week on SassyScoops.com
) and it was just as delicious in real life as it looked on TV. From the lightly breaded, super crispy onion rings...
...to the stacked-super-high club sandwich, the food was fresh, flavorful and delicious.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the shakes. Handmade (or is it homespun?) deliciousness in a tall, frosty glass!
I've also been to The Blue Plate Diner for breakfast and their omlettes are to die for, and from what I've seen of the homemade biscuits and gravy, those are a must-order, definitely must-try plate as well! Just plan to get there early or you might be ordering breakfast at lunchtime! The Blue Plate Diner
is located in Sugarhouse at 2041 South 2100 East in Salt Lake City (801.463.1151) and is open from 7am to 9pm seven days a week. You can view their menu
