It's that time of year -- the time that so many people look forward to since most of the resorts closed in late April. Opening weekend kicked-off here in Utah and the excitement is hard to contain. If the start of the ski season is a hint of what is to come, then we are in for many great powder days ahead.Brighton Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon was the first to start up their ski lifts on Thursday, November 11. Over the past week Utah has received more than a foot of new snow and it has certainly helped start the ski season off right here in the Wasatch Mountains. Solitude Mountain Resort opened for the season on Friday, November 12 with welcoming sunny blue skies and a 29 inch base. The early season conditions were ideal and fun for all who enjoyed opening day -- and keep getting better. Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort kicked-off their season with a foot of fresh powder which definitely spoiled those lucky skiers and snowboarders who made it on the "First Tram."The rest of the Utah's resorts will soon be opening for the 2010-2011 season as well. Alta will open on the 19th of November, Park City Mountain Resort on the 20th, Canyons will open on the 26th, and Deer Valley will open on the 4th of December.
