Salt Lake has the Outdoor Retailer Show and Denver will soon have the Ski Industry Association show, having nabbed it up from Vegas' grasp.Denver has the Nuggets and Coors while Salt Lake has the Jazz and Squatters. Our mountains are...well, I could go on and on with the comparisons but I doubt it'll mean much. Each city across the country and around the world has it's pros, cons, quirks and those things that make it special.I had the chance to chat with the president of Mountain Hardware, Mike Wallenfells who talked about Salt Lake (its quirks and its noteworthy aspects), the Outdoor Retailer show, and how Salt Lake makes for a great location to hold a convention.Of note was his mention of La Caille, an award winning French restaurant near the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. The food is memorable and the 32 wines by the glass, 455 wines by the bottle that range in price from 15 to 3000 dollars, 113 liquors & spirits, and 29 beers & ales certainly is worth mention.
