img_0557Located at Second and Second in the heart of downtown SLC is a bike shop with a lot of character, genuine service, and some serious road experience.  It’s not uncommon to find Brent Hulme, the owner of SLC Bike, in the massive showroom helping customers find just the right rig or accessory for their biking needs.  From roadies to serious huck and rollers this shop is well equipped to handle about anything you can dish out.My favorite part of SLC Bike is the building where img_0562it is conveniently located.  Salt Lake City Bicycle Company's historic downtown building is approximately 100 years old, and it has a rich background and character.  Previously, the building has been an Indian restaurant, an art gallery and the Stratford Hotel. Once upon a time it was a car dealership called the Studebaker Garage.  It has been well adapted and makes for a very well laid out shop painted upon an eclectic canvas of history. img_0559 img_0555 img_0554SLC Bike has quickly become a favorite gear stop for many local riders, but what few visitors realize is that SLC Bike is the perfect place to pick up a nice gift for the rider in your life.  Located only 2 blocks from the Gallivan Center Trax station, SLC bike is the most accessible bike shops in downtown. img_0560When you visit, don’t be afraid to ask for Brent.  Brent is one of those shop owners who is always around and happy to help.  I have had several of those days recently where something on my bike isn’t “quite right”.  The guys in the shop area always are willing to give you their full attention and make you feel like you are a top priority.  That kind of service can easily get lost in the midst of a heavy workload, but I have noticed each time that the guys stop what they are doing and solve my problems because that is the culture of the shop.Next time you are downtown, take a minute to check out a shop with high tech products and old fashioned service.Details -SLC Bike 177 East 200 South, Salt Lake City, UT - (801) 746-8366 Monday through Friday 10am to 7pm , Saturday 10am to 5pm
