Salt Lake will surprise you...
Salt Lake is located in the center of the American west. The city of over one million people rests in its cozy valley at 4,330 feet. The majestic Wasatch Mountains surround the city and soar to a dramatic 11,000 feet. As the region's hub for commerce, transportation, medical services, research, higher education, and cultural attractions, Salt Lake is a vibrant, modern metropolis.
Conveniently located just minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport (ranked #1 by Travel + Leisure and FlightStats for punctuality), Salt Lake is Delta's 4th largest hub, with more than 700 daily flights to 92 non-stop destinations and is connected by our award-winning light rail TRAX system for a minimal fare of $2.50.
The walkable downtown convention district, centered around the 679,000 sq.ft. Salt Palace Convention Center, has more than 170 restaurants, cafes, brewpubs, and nightspots, two large shopping centers, art and history museums, IMAX theater, planetarium, professional sports venues, theater, opera, ballet, and symphony.
Utah's capital city is now booming for business as an atractive location for young professionals to live, work, and play. In 2015, Forbes again ranked Utah as the #1 place in the nation for business and careers, and the state boasts four of Fortune's mythical "unicorns" (private companies valued at $1 billion or more). Companies like Domo, InsideSales, PluralSight, and Qualtrics are all frolicking in the fields of fiscal domination. Cranes and construction abound, and you'll feel the buzz when you arrive.
Not to be overlooked, Salt Lake's dining and nightlife scene is also making a name for itself. Two Salt Lake restaurants were just added to Open Table's Top 100 Restaurants list (SLC's first time making the list), and that's just the tip of the iceberg in regards to the city's burgeoning dining scene. Salt Lake boasts an eclectic and authentic offering of restaurants and bars.
Whether it is your first visit or if it's been a few years, Salt Lake will pleasantly surprise planners, executives, and attendees alike who once thought, "There's nothing to do in Salt Lake."
Salt Lake offers much more than world-class service and stunning scenery (though we arepretty proud of those). Our ulitmate convention goers guide details exactly what you don't want to miss on the Salt Lake Scene.
