Salt Lake Gallery Stroll

Galleries across Salt Lake are open for the public to meet artists and browse the exciting and thriving visual arts market in Salt Lake City. The event, as always, is free. Some sponsors offer special discounts and rates for those who participate in Gallery Stroll.

The Salt Lake Gallery Stroll is committed to bringing the value of visual art to the forefront of Salt Lake City’s cultural identity. By gathering galleries and other businesses to promote visual art, we strive to stimulate interest and investment in an ever-growing local visual art community through this FREE public event. Come join us on the 3rd Friday of each month (except in December when it's on the 1st Friday). In May we facilitate the Gallery Roll as a part of National Bike Month.

The program begins with George Balanchine’s joyous Square Dance is replete with breathtaking speed and precision from the dancers, the Baroque strains of Vivaldi and Corelli’s music, and the whimsical humor of a live dance caller. Next, the fierce and dynamic revival of William Forsythe’s brilliantly innovative masterpiece In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated is sure to please. The program culminates with the Utah premiere of resident choreographer Nicolo Fonte’s sensual and powerful Almost Tango, specially re-choreographed for Ballet West.

The Rise of Enduro

Cycling Utah magazine in conjunction with the Scott Enduro Cup presented by Vittoriahost the Utah premiere of the film, The Rise of Enduro, on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Brewvies Cinema Pub in Salt Lake City. The Rise of Enduro delves into the history and roots of the Enduro format while showcasing the world's most respected riders racing some of the most epic, breathtaking terrain in the world. Several Enduro Cup racers are featured in the film including Curtis Keene, Kyle Warner, and Adam Craig.

"To me, it's the most natural form of mountain bike racing," Jared Graves, current Enduro World Series Leader, describes in the film. "What's cool about Enduro is you've got to keep fighting every stage and give it everything you've got."

On April 23, two screenings of the film will take place at 7:00pm. and 8:30pm. at Brewvies. Tickets cost $7 online before April 23 and $10 at the door the day of. A raffle will take place during each screening with prizes from Scott Sports, Vittoria, The Rise of Enduro and others. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Wasatch Area Freeride Trails Association.

Lightning Bolt

Over the course of its two-decade existence, Lightning Bolt has revolutionized underground rock in immeasurable ways. The duo broke the barrier between stage and audience by setting themselves up on the floor in the midst of the crowd. Their momentous live performances and the mania they inspired paved the way for similar tactics used by Dan Deacon and literally hundreds of others. Similarly, the band’s recordings have always been chaotic, roaring, blown out documents that sound like they could destroy even the toughest set of speakers.

Mr. Perfect tells the tale of four sort-of love stories and asks, “What are the chances?” This romantic comedy centers on Zooey, a quirky flight attendant and romance novel junkie who is on the search for Mr. Perfect. When Zooey happens to meet Jeffery, the narrator of her favorite romance audio books, they end up in the airplane bathroom 32,000 feet over Dayton, Ohio. This sets Zooey on a quest to connect the random events that make up life, hoping to find the meaning of it all.

2015 Tulip Festival

Welcome spring this April and enjoy all the colors of the rainbow spread throughout nearly 100 different varieties of tulips during the annual Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival. Featuring 250,000 tulips displayed in the 55-acre Thanksgiving Point Gardens, the Tulip Festival is an awe-inspiring sight that is redesigned each year to create a new display.

In addition to the spectacular tulips, on Fridays and Saturdays the Tulip Festival includes music, vendors, and food. Also, garden tours and demonstrations are held every day. And though there are hundreds of volunteers and staff working behind the scenes to create the festival, make no mistake about it: Mother Nature is in charge of the show. Regular Garden admission fees apply. Free admission for Thanksgiving Point Members.

US Bus Heritage Express Holiday Shuttle

US Bus Utah invites you to come and experience our Christmas Shuttle. The shuttle bus will run between “This is the Place” Heritage Park and the Utah’s Hogle ZOO to downtown Salt Lake City, making a few other stops along the way. Festively illuminated and filled with Christmas music, our bus will deliver you into the holiday spirit.

Now there’s no need to fight downtown traffic or waste time looking for a parking space. Just hop on our festively decorated bus and you’ll be whisked to downtown as fast as a reindeer sleigh. Our route will bring you to all three major shopping centers—Trolley Square, The Gateway mall, and City Creek Center—and of course, historic Temple Square and its magnificent display of Christmas lights. Our shuttle will also stop close by major hotels in the downtown area, giving guests a chance to visit Heritage Park and “Zoo Lights at Utah’s Hogle Zoo” for evening fun.

HERITAGE EXPRESS is not only your ticket to downtown; it’s also fun to ride. Feeling cold? Bundle up and enjoy our complimentary hot chocolate on board the EXPRESS.

HERITAGE EXPRESS will run between December 1st and Christmas Day. It will depart every hour from the Brigham Young parking lot at the “This is the Place” park. Please look for signs directing you to the departure point.  The times of operation will be between 5:00PM and 10:00PM.  Please check your map for the last bus departing downtown (so you don’t get stranded).

One-way ticket is $5.00.
All night pass $9.00  (unlimited hop on –hop off)
Kids under 12 are free.

Kids: $5.00
The combo tickets gives you admission to the park AND an all night pass on our bus. This ticket cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
