Travelocity’s Roaming Gnome’s Choice: Utah or Reno/Tahoe - And YOUR Vote Decides!

Published: 01/27/2010
January 27, 2010, Salt Lake City, UT - The Travelocity Roaming Gnome is continuing his search for a cure to winter cabin fever, and he's narrowed his choice between Utah (Salt Lake and its four world-class resorts) and Reno-Tahoe...and popular vote on the Gnome's Facebook fan page January 27 through February 3 will determine where he skis this winter!

Voting on the Travelocity Facebook fan page ( lasts just one week, and the winning destination is revealed on the Wednesday voting ends. Immediately following the result of this contest, the Travelocity Roaming Gnome will travel to the winning destination to visit friends and locals, pose for pictures and participate in some of the most popular activities that resort has to offer, including skiing, ice skating, snowmobiling and snow tubing. As with all celebrities, he will have a "personal assistant" who accompanies him along the way.

As fans of Salt Lake's four world-class resorts-Alta, Brighton, Snowbird and Solitude-know, there really is no comparison. Taking into account Salt Lake City International Airport's accessibility (eight minutes from downtown and 40 minutes to the resorts), skiing and/or snowboarding on "The Greatest Snow On Earth" (and tons of it!), and the ability to experience a truly unique ‘aprés ski' experience in Salt Lake City (excellent dining and nightlife, fabulous cultural arts, pro sporting events, etc.), the choice is quite simple: a Ski Salt Lake vacation wins hands-down.

The Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau is a private, non-profit corporation responsible for the promotion of Salt Lake as a convention and travel destination.
