Salt Lake CVB’s ‘Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass’ Available Year Round

Published: 02/01/2010
The Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass, created by the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau, continues to offer locals and visitors a streamlined way to enjoy some of Salt Lake area's best attractions.

The Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass lets locals and visitors take advantage of the city's proximity to both urban and mountain adventures. And, it's a super value. The Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass is currently sold online at, in the Visitor's Center at the Salt Palace Convention Center, and participating hotels. It comes in the form of a scannable plastic card that may be used at the holder's leisure. Scannable paper versions of Connect Passes are also downloadable online.

Participating attractions include: Discovery Gateway, Red Butte Garden, Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort (scenic foot passenger tram ride only), Thanksgiving Point Gardens and the Museum of Ancient Life, Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Utah Museum of Natural History, Utah Olympic Park, Utah's Hogle Zoo, Lion House Pantry Restaurant, Living Planet Aquarium, Clark Planetarium, This is the Place Heritage Park and Tracy Aviary.

The Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau would like to encourage travel from neighboring states and communities that surround the Salt Lake Metropolitan area by highlighting the vast array of entertaining area attractions Salt Lake has to offer. These fun and easy to use entertainment packages were developed based on national trends that indicate travelers want to stay close to home with safe, value-driven packages. The Bureau is targeting drive-in markets and Salt Lake-based audiences for summer adventure travel.

"You don't have to leave the Wasatch Front to have a truly amazing vacation, and one that offers a great deal of bang for your buck," said Scott Beck, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau. "Salt Lake offers the sophisticated amenities of a major metropolitan destination combined with the alpine ambiance of a mountain resort."

"Salt Lake combines urban attractions with a beautiful mountain setting, making it unique among American cities. Travelers to Salt Lake can enjoy a world-class museum or visit the urban zoo, and be hiking in an alpine meadow 40 minutes later. Mountain bikers can hit the trail in the morning, revive at astounding botanical gardens in the afternoon and spend the night in a luxurious Salt Lake hotel. Very few destinations offer so much to do in so close to the natural environment."

Here's how it works:

The streamlined Visit Salt Lake Connect pass allows visitors and locals to experience 13 of Salt Lake's top tourist attractions for one low price. Each person must have a pass and may visit any of the participating attractions one time each throughout the day of activation.

Families may choose to stay downtown and take in a show at the Clark Planetarium, go hands-on at Discovery Gateway and then enjoy a buffet lunch at the historic Lion House Pantry. They could visit Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort for a scenic tram ride and spend an afternoon at Utah's Hogle Zoo. With 12 attractions in all, the options are endless.
