SNOWBIRD, UT -- A record number of breweries, as well as live music performances, summer activities and a barbecue are all slated to be part of the festivities at Snowbird’s 6th annual Brewfest and Father’s Day Barbecue, June 14-15, 2014.
“This growing Snowbird tradition is the perfect way for families to celebrate Father’s Day in the mountains,” said Dave Fields, Vice President of Resort Operations.
On Saturday and Sunday, June 14 and 15, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Brewfest will feature 16 breweries offering samples of their beer. Participating breweries include Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, Full Sail, Deschutes, Sam Adams/Angry Orchard, Lagunitas, Bohemian, Uinta, Hoppers, Red Rock, Wasatch, Squatters, Roosters, Epic, Annex and Moab. There will also be 15 craft vendors pedaling their wares.
Brewfest will take place on the Plaza Deck and the Upper Circle at the Snowbird Center. Admission is free, and each 3-ounce sample of 3.2 beer is $1. Beer with more than 3.2 percent alcohol by weight will cost more.
Snowbird will provide food stations on Saturday and a special Father’s Day barbecue will be available Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Plaza Deck. Barbecue options include Southern style smoked ribs, barbecued chicken, minted cut watermelon, corn on the cob, and many more. Barbecue tickets include a Peruvian chairlift ride. Adults cost $24.95, children age 6-12 cost $15.95, and children age 5 and under are free.
The festivities will be complemented by live music from noon to 7 p.m. both days. On Saturday, Legendary Porch Pounders, Harry Lee and the Back Alley Blues Band and Natural Roots will perform. Hectic Hobo, Swagger and Marinade will perform on Sunday.
Snowbird Summer Activities will open June 14, including the Mountain Coaster, Alpine Slide, Peruvian Chairlift and Tunnel, Mountain Flyer, Bungy Trampolines, Ropes Course, Climbing Wall, Air Jumper and Kids’ Inflatables.
Lodging specials will be offered, including a Bed and BBQ package for $73 per person, based on double occupancy and exclusive of taxes and fees. More information may be found at
Snowbird’s weekly Family Flicks will begin Friday, June 6 at dusk on the Plaza Deck, featuring The Incredibles.  Family Flicks are shown every Friday night from June 6 through Aug. 15, 2014.
