SALT LAKE CITY, February 24, 2010 - Executive Chef Nathan Powers and Bambara restaurant have received top awards from Salt Lake Magazine at the annual Dining Awards ceremony held February 23 at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts.  The magazine named Executive Chef Nathan Powers Salt Lake City's "Best Chef" and Bambara the "Best SLC Restaurant."

"Bambara, one of Utah's best dining rooms, has brought on Nathan Powers and his mastery of flavor and confidence of restraint.  Powers knows what's essential and what's gratuitous and relies on time-tested flavor combinations with precise execution," says Salt Lake Magazine. "It's fitting to receive these great honors in our 10th year," said Art Cazares, general manager of Bambara. "It's a great tribute to our culinary program and to our staff, a very nice anniversary present indeed."

"I want to thank my sous chefs and entire crew, my wife and family, all of my purveyors and Salt Lake Magazine for this great honor." said Nathan Powers, executive chef of Bambara.

Bambara was also noted as being home of the daily three-course Power(s) lunch, "a downtown staple" with choice of soup or salad and entree with a cookie to take back to the office.
